Rep Power: 4 ![]() | ok, ive finally finished my model and am trying to submit the model now. im pretty satisfied with the model itself, except for the rims because i ran out of time to do the real rims justice. but other than that, i have to say that ive got much to learn about materials - ive still yet to achieve a car paint material that i like. also there are no tread marks on the tyres because for some weird reason i couldnt get bump mapping working properly in maya and i didnt want to risk having weird textures on my model. well enough of me talking, here are the renders and some wireframes: ![]() link for larger version - http://drjstudios.toastman.com/images/SLR_14.jpg ![]() link for larger version - http://drjstudios.toastman.com/images/SLR_15.jpg ![]() link for larger version - http://drjstudios.toastman.com/images/SLR_16.jpg ![]() ![]() ![]() well there it is. i hope you had as much fun reading about me working on this as i did making the model. and i cant upload the model, stryker, ill give it to you via email. Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I think in the future you should try to make fewer polys on the lowpoly mesh, you can see that the surfaces are all curvey, ispite of a (not so)lowpoly mesh that looks great. If you want some good paint tutorials go to daniel bucks website :http://www.danielbuck.net/index.php?...to_tut/psphoto

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | if i had a second chance, id do a lower poly mesh as well. i think i found out the hard way that lots of polies = crap smoothing. id also spend more time on everything thats not the body either. and stryker hasnt replied to my email to him with the model.... anyone else had this problem? ill probably go email him again now. |
