textured with the ref pic, applied a planar map, then a Unwrap UVW modifier and i tweaked it to prevent texture stretching where it may have been a problem:

It looks realy nice. Its very sleak which seems uncommon in most sci-fi guns i've seen. What i think would be nice is some sort of laser sight on the underside.

it's not supposed to be a sci-fi gun, it's a real gun, which is planned to replace the m16 somewhere in the near future

well, thanks for the comments, started my own texture, might finish it, might not, just like all my other projects...
and is it just me, or do these forums seem a bit dead ... ?

the forums do seem a little slow lately, not much going on.

but the gun looks sweet, but i think you should modeling the details...like the indents on the front grip part and the seems and screw caps, you get the idea...more details would add a lot to the realism
