some mudbox WIP

i thought i would post some wip stuff that im doing right now.
im trying to learn mudbox 2009

the alien character is what i have so far from doing a digital tutors training dvd the body part is done and now im on the pelvis, legs, feet, and gun part, which are going to be more mechanical looking, also im going to texture them in mudbox but thats at the end of the dvd.

and then the second one is a wip im trying to do of one of Dino267's concept sketches (here: Frankenstein Sketches by dino267)

but remeber there still wip

thanks. yeah mudbox basicly does the same thing as zbursh, there both for sculpting. although ive heard that zbrush has better painting and is a little better in some parts. mudbox is easier to learn and not so big of a learning curve like zbrush. but its still the basic concept as zbrush

nice work

ahh seems like u r useing DigitalTutors for ur tranning good choice

well mikeab7925 mudbox is better far better than zbrush as far as think bc zbrush has a very hard interface and the way it works is almost imposibel to understand for newbees however mudbox is designed by autodesk so it interface is very much like maya and navigation is also easy

but one thing is better in zBrush is poly handlling it relly great for moddling really highdeffination model infact it has a feature in it HD moddling on the other side mudbox is not good in handlling "high polymodels"

but over all i found mudbox better then zbrush

and please do check out my wip

also i would highly recommend a graphics tablet if your going to use any type of sculpting program. it is 1000% percent better/easier with one.

yeah i would recommend it. i am trying to learn it as well and that has helped me out a lot, it goes through from the beginning and shows you the workflow of mudbox and goes through diffrent techniques of doing things and also covers painting to. and you end up with a pretty cool model at the end of the tutorial. its the introduction to mudbox 2009 dvd from them

ps. i would recommend making backups of your files when they start getting real high poly just incase the file gets corrupted (like mine did)
