Hey pfunkpixel!

Hmm what can i say to that head? I probably ge tthe impression that it is your first one you ever modeld, don't you?
First of all its really cool, and important that you use as much photoreferences as you can get (you have some, you told us ;D ).
But, just don't have them, use them! Try to place a front and a sideview in your modeling viewport background, so that you can block out the rough proportions and shapes.
If you have done that, go one with more details. Try to match up the shapes eye, watch out where the nosebone joins the forehead. Just keep on llooking on those pictures you have of yourself, and compare em to your model.

Further, it is important to get the right polyflow e.g the right edgeflow on your head. Because, if you have a clean edgeflow it makes it a lot easier to get more details in zbrush. Or if you want to animate something it is neccessary important to get the right loops.
On the net, i think you'll find enough references for the loops and how you can achieve them.
I would say, that you first should do some tutorials on modeling a head, before you try to model a "freestyle" head. I mean, it's freestyle 'cause you just look on your photos but didn't use em as well.
Anyway the head is completed for now. But now, get a new document and do it again, and again and again... :) I hope to see a new head of you as soon as possible.
If you want, i can draw the edgeloops over your images, so that you have an imagination of the right ones. Or you could look up my thread, there i postet a basemesh i made for sculpting a head.

I hope, that it doesn't sound that bad, what i said. HHopefully it helps you, to get better and better within the 3d industry.

Cheers,
Poly.

Inputs received

Thanx a million PolygonJunkD !!!! i am so happy with ur inputs. it means a lot for me. yes thats rite this is my first achievement on organic modelling, and i really got a " lot of troubles on polyflow " but now i begin to understand, and im doin my work from zero again til its perfect. my mouth face and eyes area shoul be quads area, and minimize tris to prevent difficulties to animating later on...i'll do my best and keep fun on modelling it..i'll post my work soon. thanx once again pal..

regards and cheers,
pfunkpixel

hey pfunkpixel.

i just read your posting, and here is a reference for basic loops...
But keep in mind, that you can cut the loops in, when the shape of the head is correct ;( In my opinion, loops can help to find the right shape. This is why I concentrate on loops while modeling.
As a basic rule, you can say first comes the form, second the loops and third details i think.
Sorry, that it sounds a little different thann before ( i just haven't been there really :/)
So have a look at the attachment and do your best :)

Cheers,
Poly.

Thanx once again polypal, u did a big favor for me...thanx before. now im doin my model from zero again. i'll post it soon here, maybe my negative side is that im not quite patient with it so with what i did to my model fast but not too well, and now i should be more patient then.. thats the key of details rite ?. and yes i see my mistakes here...i guess its best to model from the mouth, eyes and nose area then weld together rite ? hehehe btw have u got an email ?id like to send u my photoreferences for watch my progress if u dont mind..thanx before

cheers,
pfunkpixel

yeah i have ;)

Just look at my profile, there you can get my icq number or msn or skype ;) So which program you are using, i think i have the same... If you know my real email, please send me a personal message here ;)

Of course you can model all parts of your face seperated and weld them together then ;) However you get to your result, the way how you reach it isn't important, just what you get :)
Hmm, if i am honest... While looking on your pic you upped with those red circles... ;) There is absolutely no form in it.
For example, touch your nose and feel it... Or your mouth... Feel how it is shaped... And, it would be great if you get a mirror in front of your pc, so that you can check every spot on your face.

Hey pfunkpixel,

Great work so far man!

You're edgeloops are coming along, however you still have some issues with your them.

Here, you can see that I have revised your loops. You need the outer ring (the furthest one) so that you can create lines in the forehead when expressing emotion and to further define the brow ridge.

Here you can see that I've (roughly) drawn out where your flow should go. Right now, if you smoothed the model, it would seem that the model "concaved" in, giving a very unnatural look. Same with the mouth as well. The blue line shows you how far you should pull the eye loops back. Right now they're way too far back.

Keep going man, you're doing great!
