porsche cayman beginner

Hey guys, hope you are all doing fine :) Ok, well i stared using 3ds max about 5 days ago, and i began work on the porsche 4 days ago, i havnt been using any spacific tutorials, only somtimes to find tips on how to do some things. This is what i have so far, pretty embarrasing considering all the other great art works around, so i just wanted to know if the model is...irreparable? what can i fix on it, and most of all any tips on actually joining the 2 mirror objects to make the model smooth in the middle.

this is my first post here, so thankyou very much for welcoming me into you're community :)

I wouldn't mirror, I would use a symmetry modifier.
If u only have been using 3ds for 5 days u r doing very good keep up the good work!

Hey thanks for the welcome :), Ok so i took the advice and started separating the cars main parts (bonnet, door, bumper, skirts) but when its smoothed the separate parts tend to have large gaps between them, is their a way to overcome this, or is it a case of simply just adjusting the model to fit perfectly?
here is what i have managed to do so far..

best way is that you start out with some tutorials, like Max said, than if you have a question or problem, just ask, there are enough people that will help you

did you ever worked with an other 3d program??

nope, no other 3d programs, only photoshop and flash editing stuff like that, but nothing that uses 3d.
ok, iv done a bit more, seperating all the major parts of the car, and extruding their edges in for a seem. there are still alot of problems with the body though, alot of tumors here and there, and the gaps between the seems. with the gaps, should i just keep adjusting till they fit perfectly? or is their an easyer way to do this?

here is what i have so far (ugly thing i know :S)

DOnt Rush
start Over it
try to make the vertex's in a straghit line , this will help you later on
and , apply a empty material slot the the model , so you can it more clear
