My first car... what method shall i use?

Heya,

I'm going to start my first (proper) car model in 3DSMax and i would like to know what method i should use to create it.

I've tried nurbs modelling an Audi TT but i couldn't get the fender / side of the front to look right .

I had a small go at box modelling but i got massive problems when i chamfered some edges and then tried to mesh smooth..

So i was wondering what method you people think i should use to create a very high quality car render? I'd appreciate links to tutorials on the methods you suggest

*Also* Any suggestion for a car i can model that isn't too complicated.. but is modern and sleek?

Regards,
Rob.

Cool thank you :)

Is it possible to mix and match techniques? For example i have the hood (bonnet) of my Audi TT made well in Nurbs.. but i can't get the side panel and fender to become smooth (always has a big crease in it).. so is it possible to make a seamless panel with Nurbs and Poly Modeling?

Regards,
Rob.

honestly, kinda hard. yes, you can, but you have to convert the nurbs to poly first.
you'd better stick with poly or nurbs for the body and other seamless / continuous surfaces. not both.
