Thanks Millies and Halo.
The chrome texture is very simple: Diffuse color=black, reflection=VRayMap. Reflection is set at 90%. Overhead the model is a big self-illuminated white plane. The model is set on a flipped huge chamfered box, open at the camera side. No lights yet on the scene but VRay's overriding environmental lighting.
(The headlight glass will not be chrome)
Very busy week but i hope to work on it and post updates soon.

Thanks again.
Good blueprints and references can be found at smcars.net. Worth registering and searching for them. There is a photo blueprint of a 1959 Cadillac convertible.

Update: parking and taillights, door handles.

very nicely done, I would say you can take this car out of the WIP section and put it in the gallery.

Thanks!
Nevertheless it is still a WIP until all details are done.
Started the interior and added a few more parts.

Great work and awesome reflections. How do you make the realistic reflections in the carpaint?

Thanks.

The carpaint is:
Diffuse: 100% falloff map
Reflections: 25% VRayMap (could be ordinary Raytrace tho)
Updates: dashboard and much tweaking aft.

Almost finished. Door upholstery, window cranks and door latches still to be done.
