the HDLuM

Well, thanks to people like SkinFather (and soooooooo many others) in this forum...I've takin' some real steps in becoming a 3D modeler!
Props and prosts go to all who have takin time out to write tutorials, share techniques, answer questions (even though you've heard it thousands of times) and give out help.
So far, so good...a lot of work to do yet (I'm part-timin' it) but she's comin' together jus' fine... the HDLuM

EDIT---------------------------------------------------------
more images as requested...(sorry about the lighting, I know it sucks) I need to find that clay plugin/.mat file (I've seen it somewhere in my travels), when I do, I'll post more.

Hi there.

Interesting car. Can you give some other view. I think the shape of the car looks very dark and cant see the detail.

Looks like a great start, there are a lot of things to work on like the lighting, carpait and enviroment, but since this is your first model, this is very good.

i think that you should post some clay renders, so we can see the details on your model.

keep us updated

Oops sorry i thought that it was your first car :D

Looks nice i like tose wheels, try to work more on details.

Use the default materials without any change on settings for clay renders, that is what i use.

Update(s)

Hey mad modelers! jus' posting some minor updates. I've rendered a few shots in greyscale/primer so yallz can see the bodylines a little better and I have also improved my lighting skills slightly... so that helps. I've reworked the headlight assembly and added low poly (really low to Shadow...jez, that guys a madman! lol!) discs, calipers and some more minor details. I'm currently working on the engine, wheel wells and everything under the hood.

Oopsie!!! the caliper is on the wrong side- I'll fix it real quick...lol!

what causes the images to blur like that??? imageshack compression?

Looking good, but I have a question: how does one render with a HDRI image, and where do you get those? I know that they're an image format, but..., let's just say I'm confused.

Hey C, I've left all the links you need for tutes, free images and one of the tools used in creating an HDR file in the rendering section of this forum. Give 'em a looksie...It's easy, fun and the results are ten times that of any other reflection(s) you can use
(besides modeling your surroundings)... have a blast doggy!

Thanks Rex for providing the link...I'm checkin' it out this second. I like imageshack and their setup with providing everyone a gallery but it seems most of the time, my images start out crystal and end up crap with the details blurred...(like my Sig.)
so off to deviantart it is...thanks again Rex.

no problem :) had that problem with imageshack a lot too because they want to make the images less big (in kb) but on deviantart they dont do that, i even have some 1000x2400 pixels pictures on it (some strange renders in bryce) but non of my things has been made lower quality to make it take less space

I use photobucket.com. They don't compress images unless they are above 250KB, which is a pretty big pic. Unlimited space, and 10GB of bandwidth/month. It's a really good deal.
