| Registered User | first 3dsMax car It's a 350z, i saw another on this same forum i wish mine were that good :( anyways here are some pictures @ http://firedragon.no-ip.org/3d%20models/350z/ I know the splines are a little messy. I was wondering how to make some parts more ridged because when i put on the meshsmooth the car looks more like an audi TT then a 350z. It was all done with polymodeling. Is spline modeling better or just preference? Tips, comments, anything would be appreciated, thanks. Last edited by ironiC; 02-20-2004 at 05:12 PM. |

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Car In order to keep edges from smoothing too much just chamfer them. The model looks very good, but for the renderer you should pick a brighter color, because with the shade of blue you have right now we can hardly see the car. Post progress! |

| Registered User | Thnx for the comments and the help I'm having some problems with my door outlines, what i did was detached the door faces, then extruded the edges around the door and the door hole, then chamfered the door's edges and the door hole's edges, but they don't come out even and look really bad, please help This edge here looks a little strange: Another view: Also the edges or cuts do not look even all the way around the doors I'm also having some problems on this chamfered edge The chamfered edge does not last all the way to the end of the chamfered edge I made, it just starts to blend into the rest of the body till it disappears This is what it looks like: It is chamfered, but it's not really visible unless u zoom in a lot This is what it looks like w/o the edge smooth: ![]() After all of there problems i did have some progress, i cut out a vent hole lol, that's about it... :( ![]() (bah i just saw the error on the headlight, i'll fix it later) Last edited by ironiC; 02-23-2004 at 02:20 AM. |
