3D Newbie

Hi folks

I am new to 3D modelling, having started experimenting with Cinema 4D CE just recently and trying out various other programs (inc free/open source ones). Does anyone have any thoughts on whether Rhino is better than Cinema? I use both XP amd OS X.

Try them....

The only way to see is to try it for yourself!!

I love Rhino, Flamingo, Penguin and Bongo

Modelling Rendering, Rendering (sketch) and animation respectivley

And easy...

I loved it so much I purchased it after a trial of 2.0

They are now on 3.0 and not looking back

Here is some work I done earlier this year mucking around with the options and settings

I got the wireframes if you want to see..

This is by means good work, or even my best scenery work..

This is just examples of Simple Models that can look half decent using a few easy steps or tutorials....

But you'll have to use it to believe it...

Download the evaluation + some tutorials!

Rhino 3D

Flamingo 3D

But all can be seen from the main Rhino website & Gallery

Let me know how you get on!!

P.s.

I Should be on commision for this :) :sm:

Rhino

Hi!

I also use rhino, but only for modelling, maya for texturing and rendering i think maya software renderer and mental ray is better than flamingo or pengiun.

Rhino

It is, even thought I have only used mantal ray in max I can tell it has alot more possibilities, but Flamingo has potintial too, it just harder and longer to unleash it. But over all i love Rhino, it feels so cousy to me, something I dont feel in Max at all, when I work in Max it feels like being barefoot in a cold, granite room. I also think that the techniqes ussualy used in Max(mostly spline modeling) are not pricise and are flawed in many ways.
here is a model I made a while ago, it was my second car, yesterday I stared making a bodykit for it, this is what I have done so far. I am going to make new Ed 101 car, one of the racers from Carmageddon. Rendered in Flamingo.

the car

serial here is an updated renderer, I started exploring Max 6, personaly I don't think it's much better than what i had in flamingo, just because the only good material is the car paint, but everything else is not even close to what it's suppoused to be.
You mentioned the car needs work, please can you be more specific? Like what do you think I should add or what i should change? I fixed my memory problem (I think) so now I can probably model the interior without the the viewport framerate dying on me. Well any way, just tell me what you think and what needs improvment.

Hi!

I also like rhino, the modelling is great. Yeah mental ray has a lot of opportunites, but finalRender has more!
