Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Low Poly Character Modeller/Rigger, UK We are looking for a character modeller/rigger to join our talented character team working on a AAA next gen game. Applicants are required to have an understanding of constructing low resolution geometry that deforms correctly when weighted to a skeleton system. Any experience you may have using Maya is a big bonus but is not totally essential. It would be useful if you have an understanding of applying UVs to a model and laying out UVs for texturing too. Also any experience using Photoshop is a bonus too, but again, it is not essential. Whether you are working in the games industry, a graduate or a talented character modeller/rigger in your spare time, we are happy to see your work Obviously, we are looking for specific qualities in you to fulfil this role; therefore, we'd like your CVs to show certain assets: • A good knowledge of human anatomy and the human form. We don't expect you to know every single muscle by name but you should know what muscles go where and have an understanding of how different muscles deform the skin surface that covers them. • Your work should show your creative interest and passion for making realistic deforming characters. To allow us to see your ability to rig a character to a skeleton, you should include animated sequences (in a file format usable within Window's Media Player) of your rigged work. Be aware that we aren?t interested in the animation of the character, but how that animation deforms the volume of the character! • A selection of your 3d and 2d artwork. This could include any low or high polygon modelling you have created and/or rigged for games, any college work and/or any art work you have done in your spare time. (Note: with 3d artwork, it would be very useful to see your work rendered in wire frame too, not just good quality screenshots or renders). • We would like to see any work showing your texturing ability; especially how you lay out your UVs on the texture page. • Work showing any experience in Maya is a big bonus but is not essential. We are always after people with the following skills 3DS Max, Maya, Lightwave, XSI, Photoshop, Zbrush, PS3, Xbox360, PS2, Xbox, PSP, N-Gage, DS, and GBA. We accept people with backgrounds in Film, TV, Visualization, Games or any relevant 3d Modelling/Animation industry. We have positions for Environment Artists, Texture Artists, Lighting Artists, Effects Artists / Particle Animators, Technical Artists / TD’s, Character Modellers, Character Animators and Riggers all over the UK and Europe so if this role is not for you we will probably have one that is.
