Military in your blood - Tiger I panzer

hello everyone!

this might seem a little late to submit my work, but here it goes! :D

it's a german ww2 Tiger tank, obviously ;)
the panzer is from the Heavy tank batalion 505, it portrays a new replacement tank sent to the front lines in late 1944 (the eastern front, Russia)

www.chez.com/arlechinu/fall44.html

done in 3ds max 5, rendered with Brazil, the tank has about 1.2 mil polys and the scene (all the buildings, bricks, trees etc. have about another 1.2 milion polys :P )

hope you like the scene! any comments and suggestions are welcome!

also, i would like to know what i shoul do in order to submit my model to the contest... where's the entry form that i have to complete?

thanx,
arlechinu

thanx arona!

here's the link to a render of the tank alone

www.chez.com/arlechinu/tiger1.html

sorry about the links, the images are way too big in size to attach here, and making them any smaller would ruin the look of the model :)

cheers!

Looks like you have used a texture map for zimmerit coating. May be it'd better be bump map? And a bit more chaotic?....

thanx guys!

zafhos: it is a bump map :) it's not that chaotic because the tank is new and it has factory applied zimmerit (i really wanted to show the tank as close as possible to the real thing, the way it looks in the wartime photos show the tank almost new, just some minor wear and tear that occured during transpor to the front)

take a closer look at the big render that i posted in my second post (the link)

WOW, 1.5 million polys. I wish my PC 2500+, 512 ram radeon 9600XT could handle that. WHen i get 400 k to scene it hardly operates. Overall your work is really great. I like it. :coolp:
