I remember that nick, but we weren't in the same thread anytime as I remember.
Yup It was a stupid thing for me to loose an entire project. I wish you good luck too, I still dunno If i'll be able to participate though I want it badly

You have to use your own textures. Maybe I shouldn't say this but u can use textures from games to help your textutres or modify them so much so you can't recognise the original texture. Now I'll get shot
:terror: :bouncy:

Question

I apologise ahead of time, as I'm a newbie.

But in regards to this competition, am I able to create a scene consisting of several models (including the MAIN Military Model) that make up the scene elements (Terrain, Sky environment, buildings etc -> i.e. - "Props" that make up the composition)?

Or is it to be ONE model only contained within some kind of environment whether it be a simple image background plate that has been composited in Photoshop for example?

Again sorry if I've touched on what has already been mentioned in this thread.

phoenixomen: ONE model in scene. You can use any softwere, Photoshop as well, but for environment only!

say you did a tank . - would the tank driver count as a seperate model ? could you use the driver in the final render. but not in the 6 model shots?

Well, I upload already my first model for contest, and is a tank with interior and driver seat: I think this is a part of my model, no a separate model (nonobstant for practical use I make all interior in a separate part: in this way, user can erase interior from scene if he requires only a exterior render, but it's a work question)
By the other hand I think a military model involve military use: my tank includes two petrol cans (separate models), bat can itself is not a military model, because is a simple container and you can find the same gas can in a civil vehicle.

Is there any limitation on poly count? I'm so far at around 550,000 polys and I don't know, if this is too much for this contest.

Indeed, it`s important to know whay`s the poly limit.
Your modelling technique is different in a 50,000 poly model in comparison with a 500,000 polygon model. And it`s a contest rule too.
