Car of Your Dream - RULES! - Update



Attention Update! Competition is prolonged to June 15th.

Probably under the name you have guessed what this competition.:D It is correct, about Cars! Here there are not enough restrictions for your imagination. The car of your dream as it looks, know only you, so show to us it! It can be ultra the modern racing car, old auto 50th years or simply that machine which stands in your garage. Create!:D

GENERAL POSITION OF COMPETITION:

  1. The given competition is a competition ready (completely modeling and texturing) 3d models.
  2. All models sent on the competition are placed in trading system www.3dvim.com for the subsequent commercial distribution.
  3. Authors of competitive works receive an opportunity to sell creations worldwide on favourable terms trading system 3dvim.com - with all subsequent sales author receives the fee in the high preferential rate - 75 % (for comparison - in the basic catalogue - 50 %). Sale to be made under the prices established by the author.
  4. The best models will be placed in separate elite section of trading system http://boutique.3dvim.com
  5. The main prize of competition - 300 USD.
  6. The organizer and a place of carrying out of competition - a portal 3DM models creation
  7. The sponsor of competition - trading system www.3dvim.com

RULES:

  • Competition is open to everyone, worldwide
  • Model must be created by a single artist, no team work submissions can be made. Multiple submissions are permitted either.
  • Model must be original artwork and ownership of the contestant. Plagiarism will NOT be tolerated, and anyone found stealing WILL be made an example of in public.
  • At the discretion organizers of competition will pass selection of works. If work has not passed, then the author can present new work.
  • Giving model, the author agrees to give organizers of Competition the sanction publicly to show images of model on the sites and an opportunity to use it for promotion of the site and competitions.
  • Organizers have the right to prolong terms of carrying out of competition.
  • Any of these rules may change at any time without prior notice. Do visit this page often!

The new contest titled "Car of Your Dream" begins in April 30th, 2003. The deadline for this contest is set to: June 15th, 2003.

Voting booth will close on: June 29th, 2003

VOTING:

  • You should be registered at the 3DM Community!
  • You vote for your top 3 entries and list them in order.
  • Places are calculated by going through all votes with 3 points for a first 1st, 2 points for a 2nd and 1 point for 3rd.
  • Participants can vote, but they cannot vote for themselves.
  • The winner will be notified by e-mail on a victory over 72 hours after publication of results of voting.

REQUIREMENTS TO COMPETITIVE MODELS:

  1. To participation in competition author's models in formats DWG, DXF, 3DS, MAX, LWO, created in any packages 3D modelling or a combination of several appendices are accepted.
  2. the Model should "be completely finished and ready" to the use.
  3. Authors should give 6 demonstration images in the size not less (3 normal foreshortenings and 3, corresponding frame a kind) (look an example - http: // boutique.3dvim.com/dioxin/ja034.html), a file of model in archive ZIP, including all used textures, and the description in English.
  4. the Author should make model independently and to possess the property rights to sent competitive model.

ORDER OF ADDITION WORKS ON THE COMPETITION

  • Wishing to take part in competition should be registered on a site www.3dvim.com and receive the expanded profile.
  • The prepared model upload on a site with the help of the special form. Look the instruction http://www.3dvim.com/siteinfo/info.html?info=2006. In a corresponding field it is necessary to specify, that the model is sent to competition "Car of Your Dream".
  • During 2 days organizers of trading system will independently place model on competition and will notify you the corresponding letter.
  • In case the sent model is not complite, contents - managers send to the author the corresponding letter with necessary additions. The model will be placed at competition only after the author will send missing to contents - managers.

AWARDS:

  • 1st place award - $300, respect, admiration and cheers
  • 2nd place award - respect and admiration
  • 3rd place award - admiration

  1. The prize-winning sum is transferred the Winner by the postal order, bank transfer or through system Western Union (at the choice of the Winner). The charges connected to transfer of money resources are subtracted from the prize-winning sum. Other ways of transfer of the sums, as agreed with the winner are possible also.
  2. If the Winner does not address for a prize within the limits of 2 weeks after the notification of organizers, the prize passes to the owner of the second place. he will have also 2 weeks for reception of a prize, and so on.

"Multiple submissions are permitted either. " I don't quite understand that statement, is that a YES or a NO for multiple submissions?

Can we have others (like a professor or anyone at all) look at and critique the model as we progress? Or does this have to stay in the dark untill we upload it?

What right would that be?
If we don't posses a registered modeling software we can't participate?(models created with unregistered software can't be used for material profit) -This would be good to know for many modellers to keep 'em out of trouble

That mine that 3d model mast be yours only. www.3dvim.com - is an agent and do not need regestered software for dysplaying for sale. It is only ouner's business.

I want to know one think. What have to be the car (conceptual own model or a car that exist so far in the world).

You can submit many models! If one has not passed selection another can pass! :thumbsup:

Big question here... I own the Educational version of 3d Max 5.1, and I am attending college at the Art Institute of Phoenix.

Because money is involved here, does that boot me out? With the Educational version, there isn't supposed to be any monitary profit from anything created with the software.

Does this rule me out? :(
