opteron dual processor!!! ???

Motherboard: IWILL DK8N

Processor : Opteron 248

RAM : Corsair Memory XMS Extreme Memory Speed Series
(twinx1024-4000pro) 500 MHz.
Bus Clock Rate Random Access Memory (4x512MB)

HD: 1- 40 GB WD 7200RPM 8MB cahce IDE or 36.7GB SCSI 10k
2- 120 GB WD 7200RPM 8MB cahce IDE

“I would not recommend RAID 0 without an adequate backup solution for your main system drives. RAID 0 has no redundancy and you will eventually be burned by loss of data.

The reliability of a RAID 0 array decreases dramatically as you add more drives. The speed increase isn't worth the loss of data.

I would use a smaller 15K rpm SCSI drive as your OS drive and use a larger IDE/SATA drive for everything else.”

– so what I would like to ask. How do I setup a SCSI drive and then one with IDE – is it possible to do that? and would there be any significant diffrence ir i use a SCSI?

Display Card 1- GFORCE 6200 OR GFORCE FX 5900XT 128mb OR Nvidia 5700 ultra

http://www.hothardware.com/viewartic...?articleid=438 - what about the 6200 .. anyone can help me out there?

Monitor Samsung SyncMaster 172t

NSpire NSP-550P4D 550W AMD/P4 Dual Fan ATX Power Supply Ultra Quiet NSpire NSP-550P4D 550W AMD/P4 Dual Fan ATX Power Supply Ultra Quiet

ok, so this is what i plan to buy! BUT, my budget is kinda limited, but i guess it should be ok, then ive done my homework BUT im not sure if everything up there is compatible and works together and is there any heat problem with opterons? and i heard that sound is also a minor problem-anyway how to get rid of the sound? hehe, dont get me wrong.. i dont wanna get the'perfect pc' but at least i want it WORTH for the money i pay, btw, this workstation will beused for c4d rendering and AE editing.. tqs... plus tqs to all in this thread for helping us out!

Hey Thats Cool. But what is your personal opinion on Dual Xeons I hear they are perfect for 3D rendering. I saw some benchmarks, it seems that dual Xeons work better than dual Opterons but i don't know.
