Alternative to the mouse

I would like to hear if anybody is using alternatives to the mouse when they are modelling, I know about the space navigator, but that is more like a companion to the mouse than a alternative, I was thinking more like an electronic pen which I have used earlier with Autocad, how is it working with 3d enviroments like 3ds or maya, what is your experience? Are their something which can be recommended?

inn 3ds max and maya i think mouse is the best thing you can use. since you will be often moving polys by polys and need somthing accurat.

but if your going sculping like in zbrush, a electronicpen is the best way to go.

and for navigating though a big 3d enviroment the spacenavigator is great, but not for modeling it self.

yes minimus is right I use 3ds max and with out a doubt a mouse is much better to use however for zbrush and stuff like that the graphics tablet is much easier and better to use in my opinion. I have a wacom graphics tablet and it works just fine for me with that type of stuff also it comes in handy in photoshop when using burush's and stuff like that.
