Is 9800 GTX good for 3ds max and latest games(eg.GTA4)?

I m planning to a new graphics card for my workstation.

I was planning for 8800gtx but somebody told me 9800gtx is almost exactly same, but is almost half the price.

As my budget isnt too much

1. Now which card should i go for?
(I feel 9800gtx will be good for 3ds max and latest games(eg.GTA4))

or
2. please some other graphics card for the same.

3. Is quadro series better than 9X?

For graphics and what not, the Quadro are better, but they will not run anywhere near as good for games.

The 260 is the best out of all three cards you listed.

I would suggest getting the 260 or the 9800GTX

I studies online a bit 4870 is too costly for me i think or is the actual price about 300AUD

I would just go with the 9800GTX. Although, you may notice that it doesn't perform as well because the processor is kind of old and not that great.

Should still run GTA 4 fantastically, that's for sure.

Usually the higher price it is, the better performance you will get. I just want to remind you that if you want to get a high-end graphic card, you should first upgrade your PSU as 500W isn't really enough (especially if it is not from reputable companies, such as Antec, Cooler Master etc.). Another thing I would like to suggest you if you want to have good rendering time is to upgrade your CPU.

Remember, most renderers are using software rendering mode (CPU and RAM to render instead of GPU). Upgrading your GPU will, however, make your viewport faster.

yup i prefered to get GPU instead of upgrading my cpu. But once i get gpu i get something like core2

If GTA4 run on it. then that card is fine.

yup I used to be there with same name. You helped me quite some times. i used to participate in some competitions. you might not remember me. As i was not very active member there. I was just beginner and used to ask for help all the time
