Question regarding the Rubics Cube

Hi, I am a newbie in 3ds max modeling, and happen to saw the tutorial provided over at http://www.3dm3.com/tutorials/cube/ , please do help me out if possible. I managed to follow the tutorial through, but not sure on how do you manage to get the lightning and shadow for the rubics cube shown in
the render picture. :cry:
