| Registered User | you can only weld spline end points. for the intersecting points inbetween you can just fuse them together. So what that means is only 2 vertices can be welded at any point and if theres more then there just fused or in the same spot. theres an option in Max that you can turn on so when you click on one vertex it selects the ones that are fused to it. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I had this problem, i've found if you convert a mesh to a poly, the editing tools are better. Such as, in edit by vertex you can target weld vertices. Have a look, hope this helps? NAD. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Getting the surface Hi all i have been using max6 now for 4 months, i understand max but the one thing i cant seem to understand in max is spline modelling. i have been trying to do the tutorial on this website: :http://www.raz.ro/tutorials/masina/car1.htm but i dont seem to be having any luck. I dont understand how to correctly place vertices's to make a spline surface This is what i dont get: you have to create additional splines to create surfaces of 3 or 4 splines. We do that, because will use the Surface modifier that will create a patch where it finds 3 or 4 splines intersecting each other.......... i make 4 splines intersecting with each other then it ask if i want to close the spline - so i click yes, then i cant seem to connect other vertices's after i draw my fist 4 splines and close it Can someone please help - i really really want to know how to do this as i want to model a car this way and i am dieing to know. Thanxxxxxxxxxxx |
