Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Problem with tutorial Okay now, I'm no expert at spline modelling. In fact, I've never used em before in my entire (short) life. Just recently I decided to take the step and see what splines could do for me. So I digged up some books for 3ds Max 4.0 from under the dust and read a bit, after that I took a tutorial from this site: http://www.3dtotal.com/ffa/tutorials...orial/head.asp Anyway, either I am really stupid or .... erm I am really stupid, but I can't seem to figure out how or what is meant here. Let me elaborate, the first stage is where I get stuck (yes, that's right, the very first). I create my splines, then I have to join em together and convert them into a flat polygon. What is meant by joining them together? Should i just select them or should I group them? And when I convert them to a poly, I do not get the opening in the middle of the mouth, just the two poly's are created, what's up with that? Second stage gives some trouble too, here I have to somehow show or add hidden lines through mesh edit. How do I do this? And what is this mesh tools he is reffering to? Yikes, I feel like a total n00b. Anyway, any help is appreciated. Wait, somethings wrong *scrolls back through post*... Aah, that's it, I didn't introduce myself yet. So ehm, Hello I'm new ;). |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I went over to the page you refered to, just to take a look and see what you meant by your question. Ok. Let me see... If you havent figured it out yet, this is a way to get started on this tutorial. Make the splines as the first pic tells you to. And here is the joining part. Atatch them and convert to poly. Pow and there you are, well allmost. Mark one vertice and the one oposite to the one you just marked and conect them. Conect can be found in the quad menu. As i said erlier. This is one way, try it if yoiu havent figured it out for yourself. Best regards |
