PhotoReal Marble

Hello im new to the community just wanted to say awesome work guys.

I recently got back into modelling, and working with 3ds 6, need to buy the newer versions out a bit back in the days with my program :P.

Any who im working on a kitchen model, and i need to make a nice texture for floor and countertops, i want to make it photoreal, Marble floors with tiles, and a smooth crisp looking countertop. If you guys know any tips or other TUTs that I might have missed please tell me of them. Thx.

This is what i have for the geometry, as you can see my textures are really bad :P. Any help would be great.

Well any ways ive been going at it on my own just fooling around with mats working with materials and learning Tuts teaching to make dry wall and so on.

This is my start on the texturing, does anyone have any good rendering + lighting effects to make this a better turn out ?.
