Great tutorial, but i found it easier if you actually have two blades, (one slightly larger) AROUND the other. Put the glow on the one underneath, and make the top layer blade 30-60% transparent. This makes the glow shine through. Thus giving you control over what ever colour blade & glow you want.

I loved this guide but it took a bit to get use to in corprating the two programs expessicay aftereffects
