Box modeling or Splines?

Can anybody say which is the best way to model a car, I get so far with one way and then hit a problem. I have tried both ways now and both have given problems.

Is there any other ways to model that don't have as many problems with them?

My current problem with splines is the vertices not snaping to another vertex.

And, box modelling, the corners end up too rounded after a mesh smooth.

Cheers,
NAD

i use both to model something. i start with the general shape and minimun details made with splines and then convert it to a mesh and extrude it. to keep the corners from rounding to much with mesh smooth just chamfer the edge on the corner and mesh smooth will not round it as much.
good luck.
