blood texture

Hi everyone
Does any one know how to make a texture that looks like flowing blood or any free tutorial sites that might help :(

If you have seen blade 2 I want it to look similar to where blade steps out of the blood pool

any help would be greatly appreciated

(p.s. i need be able do it in maya 5)
