Turbo Squid’s 3D application plug-in, Tentacles, is now available for the most recent version of Autodesk 3ds Max 2008 modeling, animation and rendering software. With the instalment of 3ds Max 2008 users automatically have access to Turbo Squid’s Tentacles.

Tentacles is a free flash-based plug-in that integrates the entire Turbo Squid online library and purchasing process into a variety of popular 3D applications, enabling users to browse, compare and purchase 3D content (including models, textures, mocap data and much more) without ever leaving the 3D applications in which they are working. Also within Tentacles, artists are able to store, manage and organize all of their work in one secure, central location on the web giving them an instant backup for their critical files. In addition, artists are able to create their own private online workspaces in order to share designs with co-workers, fostering a collaborative environment between team members on a project.

Download Tentacles as a standalone or for the following 3D applications: 3ds Max 2008, v7/8/9), Maya (v7/8/), Softimage XSI (v4.2/5.1/), Cinema4D (v9.5). Additional versions of Tentacles for more applications are due out later this year.
