Starcraft Chronicles - A CGI Animated film

A team of nearly 40 3D modelers from around the world are gathering to develop a fan-made CGI animation dubbed Starcraft Chronicles. It is a non-profit project made by fans for fans. Among the software used are Lightwave, Maya and 3Dmax.

The team currently consists of 80 members composed of Concept artists, 3D modelers, animators, sound designers, music composers, voice actors and web developers.

On August 14, production will start to create a 30 seconds demo to show off their capabilities. Thereafter, they will begin production of a 30 minutes CGI film. Depending on various factors, the length of the movie might be increased. The CGI Team is still recruiting new 3D modelers and animators. A great opportunity for anyone to build a professional show-reel.

Among the team are few game developers and Hollywood film professionals working incognito as Starcraft fans, who wish to fulfill their fan-side's dream.

DiVX Corporation will offer encoding support and distribution of the fans-made film.

At the bottom of the page they show the Starcraft and non-starcraft artwork of eight of the team modelers, submitted at the time of recruitment, to let us see a glimpse of their capabilities.
