Demos of Latest in Motion Capture Technology on US West Coast & in Vancouver, Canada 12. - 20. October 2006

Sophia Antipolis, France (October 3, 2006) - REALVIZ, a leader in image processing software development, is pleased to confirm that they will be demonstrating their latest software release, Movimento, at a select number of venues along the US West coast this month. The tour, which kicks off on October 12th at Pixel Corps in San Francisco will also travel North to the Vancouver Film School on October 16th 2006, and concludes in Los Angeles with 3 days of one-to-one demonstrations on October 18th, 19th & 20th 2006. Movimento is a state-of-the-art video-based motion capture solution "Powered by SMART", REALVIZ' powerful automatic 3D tracking engine.

Unveiled at SIGGRAPH 2006 in Boston, Movimento draws on REALVIZ' long-standing expertise in 2D and 3D motion tracking, and the solid 8-year success of MatchMover Pro within the visual effects industry, and captures the motion of any non-rigid object from multiple image sequences. Movimento offers users a complete and flexible solution for facial, hand, arm and full-body motion capture across a wide range of applications, from special effects, bio-mechanical research, sports science, orthopedics and engineering to behavioral analysis. Movimento offers users the possibility to combine 3D camera tracking and motion capture processes for applications requiring non-static cameras (on-set mocap, motions spanning a very wide area, or a complex environment) and to automatically reconstruct 3D meshes from the tracked data. Capture is non intrusive, as it can be realized in natural or ambient lighting and requires no specific hardware within the scene. Movimento expands the boundaries of the traditional motion capture Studio by offering the capability to take the motion capture process beyond the studio to where the action is!

Movimento requires a minimum of 2 cameras upwards, which can be either fixed or moving. Any frame rate and/or resolution may also be used. Mocap data from Movimento can also be exported to Autodesk MotionBuilder®, 3ds Max®, Maya® and SOFTIMAGE®|XSI® for further manipulation. Custom computations and/or exports can be realized through scripting (Python, Perl, TCL/TK). REALVIZ Movimento offers users an affordable, accurate and highly flexible motion capture solution, without the need for a motion capture studio.

·Pixel Corps will be hosting a demonstration of Movimento on October 12th & 13th at 1:00pm (day-time session) and at 7:00pm (evening session).
·The Vancouver Film School will be hosting their demonstration on Monday October 16th 2006 at 7:00 pm.
·REALVIZ and its partners will also be hosting several demonstrations of Movimento in Los Angeles on October 18th, 19th & 20th 2006.
