PipelineFX Releases Qube!™ 5.3

Provides Users Support for New Platform, Adds Functionality, and Enhances Application Performance

Honolulu, HI – April 1, 2008 – PipelineFX, makers of Qube!™ software, the leading render farm management software for film production, game development, and digital media education around the world, today announced the availability of Qube! version 5.3.

The Qube! GUI adds a number of enhancements in both power and usability. The image viewer now supports displaying arbitrary image formats like OpenEXR by launching external viewers such as fCheck or exrDisplay. The submission dialog has a number of new browsers to assist with specifying hosts, clusters, job dependencies, requirements, and reservations. Other new features that have been added include a new “Job Timeline” display panel to show a timeline of the job processes and frames, flexible search filters for jobs and hosts, tooltips for submission dialogs to provide easily accessible descriptions of fields, the ability to manually “complete” Jobs and Frames and to reduce the number of Workers requested for a Job on the fly.

Supervisor performance and responsiveness for large render farms have been improved. New per-frame dependencies complement the existing per-job dependencies for chaining Jobs together. The Qube! 5.3 release now supports Mac OS®X 10.5 Leopard.
