Rep Power: 5   | Microsoft released Beta of its next-generation operating system Windows Vista  Amongst the new features of Vista is the Windows Presentation Foundation (WGF), formerly code named Avalon: a new user interface subsystem which uses vector graphics, allows transparent windows, and will make use of 3D computer graphics hardware in the process.
