Hi CG News, based on the feedback I got here when I released meshmixer01, I have made some improvements, and added some (hopefully) easy-to-follow tutorials to the website. No mac version yet, but I did buy a macbook, so I should have one going as soon as I port the widgets to Qt.

As always, feedback is appreciated.
cheers,

meshmixer02 changes:
- new part maker tool and tutorial (convert meshes into parts without cutting)
- new multi-scale smoothing tool and tutorial
- new tutorials for hole filling and part drag-and-drop
- large part support (it might get pretty slow, but it shouldn't crash...)
- improved UV handling (only UVs in hole-fill and transition areas are lost)
- additional types of hole filling and drop deformation
- dropped part offset with controllable fair transition
- direction widget for re-orienting dropped parts
- OFF import, COLLADA and STL export
- improved UI with more hotkeys and camera controls
- many, many bug fixes

Here is an example of the multi-scale smoothing tool. This is the same 'amount' of smoothing, at different scales. This tool can also do 'un-smoothing', which can look like exaggeration (although sometimes it just looks plain weird).

There is also optional automatic smoothing for drag-and-drop, which can be combined with an offset away from the surface (and re-orienting of the part - see the drag-and-drop tutorial link above):

Here is an example with UVs (rendered in maya). I haven't tested this very much, so it may break for more complicated UVs. If you find bugs, please let me know (and ideally send me an example...)
