There never was very much info on Berkey on the net to begin with, and his passing seems to be woefully under-reported, even in the art community. This is sad because he was such a prolific and hugely influential artist, especially in the sci-fi artist community, and he was a gigantic influence on me personally for over 30 years. He had a well established trademark style which I'm sure almost everyone here would instantly recognize. He was a giant from the Golden Age of sci-fi illustrators, and he will be missed. (I did a search and found no previous posting about this. Delete this if i missed it somehow) Source |
