Rep Power: 0 ![]() | This is no April Fool’s joke… I think. In fact, this is great news!Besides Up, one of my favorite animated films last year was Henry Selick’s Coraline. If you’ve seen it, you know that the stop-motion animated fantasy based on a best selling novel was masterfully adapted and hauntingly satisfying. So how cool is it that Selick is making his new home at Disney/Pixar? Variety reported yesterday that the Nightmare Before Christmas director left his new-ish home at Laika to return to his roots at the Mouse. Although he’s setting up shop at Pixar, his films will be made in stop-motion and presumably won’t be under the Lamp’s brand. The deal was struck recently after days of visiting the studio. Great news, we’ll see what kind of stories come out of this Disney/Pixar/Selick deal. The developing story can be found here. Your thoughts? More... |
