Intellectual Property Law – Part 1: Trademark Law – Ideas and Concepts


When: Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 7pm to 9pm

Please join DC_SIGGRAPH as we have the first of a series of meetings about Intellectual Property Law. The topic for our first meeting is Trademark Law and how it relates to artists/small studios. The USPTO has graciously allowed our guest speaker Jason Lott to speak with us. Mr. Lott currently works as a Trademark examiner at the US Trademarks Office (Part of the PTO). Please note that as PTO representative, Mr. Lott is only authorized to give an introduction of ideas and concepts behind trademarks. Security

Please note that an RSVP is REQUIRED if you plan to attend this event! There is a possibility you might not be admitted into the building if you are not on the building security list! Please bring a Driver’s License or other form of Government I.D. for admittance into the building. We need to submit the list to security 72 hours in advance of the meeting. PLEASE RSVP IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND!

Parking & Metro

Take yellow or blue line to the King Street station in Alexandria. Follow the pedestrian tunnel under Duke St.
The George Washington Masonic Memorial will be to your RIGHT, behind you, and the USPTO Headquarters in front of you.
The Madison East and Madison West Buildings are located on Dulany St. about 2.5 blocks from the Duke Street pedestrian tunnel. You can identify them by the central glass Atrium that joins the East and West buildings.
Parking is available in the East Garage , 551 John Carlyle Street, Alexandria, Virginia
Hourly and daily parking is available to visitors.
Hourly and daily parking is available from 5:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Monday through Friday , except Federal Holidays.
