Alpha 1 had some pretty severe bugs - not always saving the textures being the biggest bug, so Alpha 1 was an unsuitable official test version - this has now been fixed.

In addition to this a few other small bugs have been crushed since Alpha 1.

Alpha 2 is now based on Blender revision 27226 and is of course available at the above link in all the usual Operating System flavours.
