3Dconnexion Enters Architecture, Engineering and Construction Market

3Dconnexion, a Logitech company, today announced that its line of 3D mice is now supported by the new Graphisoft ArchiCAD® 11, the company’s latest 3D architectural design software. The Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) community can now use one of 3Dconnexion’s popular 3D mice – the SpaceNavigator™, SpaceTraveler™, SpacePilot™, or SpaceExplorer™ - with ArchiCAD 11 for better coordination and control of 3D objects when creating designs and managing the information life cycle of buildings within a 3DVirtual Building™ model.

Unlike mice confined to motion on two flat planes, 3Dconnexion’s 3D mice allow effortless movement and control within the 3D workspace of ArchiCAD 11. By simply moving the controller cap, a 3D CAD designercan simultaneously pan, zoom and rotate without stopping to select commands.An increase in pressure accelerates motion while a decrease in pressure slows motion for precise micro-adjustments.
