Welding problems

hi i am using 3ds max 6.0 and i am spline modelling an audi tt, however i am having problems when sometimes to spline points wont weld together, even when the distance is set to high numbers like 20(extreme), has anyone else had this problem?
also in max 6 the program keeps closing on me while im working, and although it 'tries' to make a backup, i can never find it

Sounds familiar

I think you're getting the same problem as me, check my Spline Vertices post.

the backup should be in "C:\3dsmax6\autoback" or in the "autoback" folder in your max6 root folder

you can only weld spline end points. for the intersecting points inbetween you can just fuse them together. So what that means is only 2 vertices can be welded at any point and if theres more then there just fused or in the same spot. theres an option in Max that you can turn on so when you click on one vertex it selects the ones that are fused to it. Ill try to find that option for you
