vray render takes hours HELP

i have a problem.i make one material and when i put on opacity map slow down the render.it took one render with resolution 480X640 9 hours and without the opacity map took 30 minutes.
ANY idea how can i render in less time?

i have a pentium extreme edition 3.2 GHz and 1024GB ddr2
i dont think that is the problem my tower!!!the problem is that 3dsm calculate many many holes and take time any solution on that??????

You should try different settings in render (GI, antialiasing) or set up less lights, but if it's some complicated procedural material you'll have to wait. That's why people buy more powerfull computers ("P4 ee is not something extra powerfull")

i know that but for box shape with one material on it and one light is ok.let u explain if know something i have made one copper material with one bump and ocupacity map,but on that cube(10.8m) the material has over 1000 holes is something like net but not symetrical.thats all.thnks for reply

If you don't really need all of the holes, try reducing them by modifing the map (picture) in photoshop or something, or give it less tiling.

i need them is the front view of my building and i must rapresant it exactly the same.anyway i ll find one solution.if i make the holes on 3dsm without ocupacity map is better?

I'm not sure if I undertand you. You have the copper cube and you want the copper to be visible only where the lines are? Try posting some pictures so I can easily understand it

Hmm, I'm a newbie yet, but wouldn't be better making diffuse as a mix (opacity map as a mask, rust map at white slot, black at black slot ?

I,m not sure how light would react, but that's an easy fix

The render time should change, you'll have to "play with it" to get the result you need.
