Rep Power: 0 ![]() | hi! I am working on an exterior animation. The site is surrounded by sea. The exact location is Florida. we are planning to animate the ships in the water. can U please suggest some material for the sea. I want the same kind of water and near the site there are ships moving and how do we create the waves closer the ships. I am planning to make particles. is there any other way to get a good result. for the ocean effect. I attached a Ariel photograph of the site. Thanks in advance

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | if your starting with a birtd eye view like inn the picture up there, ther will be way to much particles to fill that area. so i recomend you to kind of cheat the look of the sean inn the distance and when you gett closer you can gow ower to particles when you want the wave around the ship. but u must warn you, rendering particles can be a pain in the ass:P glue3d is a good plugginn for partivles and liquid. try check it out :)

It will save up your rendering time and working time, and the result is not bad too (you can use the clone stamp tool and 'pick' from other images so that it looks real, or just draw out if you want :) ) Thanks and good luck :) |

| Member | Oh yea.....didn't notice about the word 'exterior animation' in your first post. Well, then I think the only way is to use particles. You no need to have really detailed particles, perhaps just like 'powders' but will move..... (I don't think you really need glu3d if you don't have the money, since you are looking far away and there are some 'tools' to get particle effects in 3DS Max (are you using it?) and Maya too. ) Thanks :) |
