Unwrapping car uvw's evenly

I have a car that i need to uvw unwrap. I have the hood and the the trunk lid and the rear of the car separated out. the rest of the body i want to leave attached but i need to flatten it out to that i can output a texture map. I am guessing i have to detatch the sides planer map them and reattach them to the top. Then i would have to do the same for the front which i have to split down the center. If so how do i make sure that the pieces i detach and planer map are the same size? What i am looking for would be something like the attached image. I have worked with UVW's in the past i just can't get mine like this. Can someone please tell me what i need to do to get this result?
