Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Some basic questions. Hey Guys, I'm quite new to 3ds max and i wanted to be sure of a couple of things regarding segments in an object. 1 - When you use pro boolean to extract objects from a bigger object, is it still possible to change the amount of segments in that big object once you have create the dent? 2 - Once you convert an object to editable poly can you also change segments in that object? I ask this, because everytime i go to either of these things, my main object parameters dissapear and im not able to work on segments anymore. Also, it seems like i cant get rid of the conversions because there is no delete option for them as there is for the items in the modfier list. Thanks in advanced. |

| Myself | i dont think you can do it after pro boolean, but you can asign editable poly on top of your object without right clicking an selecting it there since it will then colapse youre moddifier stack, you can add editable poly on top of your modifier stack by selecting it under the same place you find bend, twist, symmetry... its quite high up in that pulldown menu

| Forum Moderator ![]() | 1 - When you use pro boolean to extract objects from a bigger object, is it still possible to change the amount of segments in that big object once you have create the dent? go to modifier list problooean>subobject.. ![]() change segment (example in this case Box01 segments can be change after boolean with Geosphere01) 2 - Once you convert an object to editable poly can you also change segments in that object? what do you mean by change segment?add polys after boolean?beavel?extrude.. ![]() just use editable poly selection because once you convert..its hard to go back. best way is to do backup or reference(clone) during modelling. |
