Rigging or animating a magic carpet

Hi
I have been surfing this forum from quite some time now. I c lots of talented people here.
Now to the point

I need to animate a carpet to make it look like it is flying in air not suspended from four ends.

I have all basic knowledge of 3ds max.

can u suggest any tutorial or tip for the same?
