Rendering feilds

Is there a way I can render just a feild like just render the atmosphere or just render the specular or reflection. If there is can someone tell me as soon as possible.

Why dont people like to help when I have a question! if it's not possilbe tell me, if it is tell me so I atleast know! I dont like being ignored by everyone when I have a serious question!

you mean like rendering passes/elements.

and what software do you use?

inn 3ds max mental ray is built inn and if you go to the rendering section. (F10)
you can gett inn to the render tab about rendering elements. inn there you can pick wich element you want to render like.... just the: Furs-specular-diffuse-light-shadow and so on.....

Thank you for the response, but that's not what I wanted. Ummm how should I say it.

Is there a way that I can render a render element without having to render the entire full thing, like can I just render Z depth on it's own without rendering the entire scene over again?
