Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I believe there are multiple ways of doing this. With 3D's max 9, I save the materials to met library. The way you do this is you select one of your materials, then you hit the get material button. A window should have popped up that says Material/Map Browser. Select one of the materials and hit the save as button. It will save there, then you can get rid of the material in the editor. That will give you a free space in the editor, then you can save all of your materials, so you can use them in later projects. Now this is in 3DM9, and things in 9 are different then in 8, so it might not be exactly the same, but it should be similar. Hope it helps. |

| SkoleSlasken ![]() | if you have made a good material it's easy to save it. its a button inn the material editor under the preview spears. it's a button with a picture of a bal and a disc, that says put to library when you scrool over it. when you save it you save it as a .mat file. this files can you open when you pick a spear and hit the standar button. then a new window is popping up and you check the mtl library checker at the top and then hit the open button to open the saved mat file. i dont know how you gett more material windows after using them all. but if you need more space i recomend you use multi/sub-object. inn there you can save up many materials. but then you need to give you objects or polys ID adresses hope this helps a bit. pleas ask more if you need:) cheers.
