Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Old tutorial doesn't work in Max 8 Hi everybody, it's not the first time that I try to animate some cars in 3dsmax and this time I decided to try until I do it, because I've never got success... I'm trying to do what is in this tutorial: Movement of the automobile on a line. but looks like it doesn't work in my 3ds Max 8. For example I cannot find "Roll Along Path" controller and some others. Also the file available for download doens't work ok... If someone who knows how to do this could remake the animation in a newer version of max I would be grateful. Thanks! Last edited by Birtz; 02-20-2008 at 08:35 PM. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Wow, that tutorial sure is old! What you likely want is to use the Reactor system in which you'll find a both a Toy Car helper and a Car-Wheel Constraint. I've never delved into these but I found some tutorials on using them under 3DS Max9's User Reference (not the Tutorials section of Help) by searching for "car-wheel". The other option would be to simply grab a car rigging system from the web. I found one at ::loran:: that looks pretty good and worked rather well when I tested it.
