Need Ideas for new undersea world

Hi all, Since a short time I want to make an underwater world.

I want to make a few underwater livingquarters, but I have no idea of what the design should be, or even what it would look like. I am not a great star in 3dsmax 5, but, I am still learning.

Is there anyone who has ideas for this world? The Idea behind the world is that I'm going to make small animations, and, when I learned enough, a longer movie.

You could make one building out of half a geoshpere and make it glass like, kind of how jar jar's underwater buildings looked like.

I've tried working with sphere's as a place where people could live and work as a space station. I've made ceveral models. One huge one with an amount of 750 pretty big "houses" and a parkingspot where they could float to, but it was too unrealistic.

Last week I made a beginning of a new kind of space-station, but again it was too unrealistic, so I decided not to finish it. I wanted to place a rendering image here, but I don't know how. :S

I am trying to make it as realistic as possible, and that's why I chose to make an underwaterworld for a change.
I already have the designs of the mechanism that unfolds when the whole thing reaches the ground. I am testing it right now.

Hm...? what is the url of aquanox, so I can take a look at their site. The main reason why I want to make it realistic, is that I am learning to be a mechanical engineer at school. I want to push my mechanical knowledge to the limit.

Do you have any other Ideas,

Thanks for the ideas given,

greets

The site for Aquanox is http://www.aquanox.de .

I suggest you use curved angles in every direction, try not to use 90ш angles because of the water pressure... You could try adding some "floating" elements like beacons, etc.

Maybe add transit tubes (glass) connecting the buildings... and maybe some exhaust tubes releasing water bubbles, etc.

That's as far as I can go now... If I get any more ideas, I'll post them...

Good Luck!! And hope it helps!!:buttrockx

Thanks Pyros for those great Ideas, I never thought about it like that. You gave me a whole other perspective about what to do with that world. I'm going to start making concept designs of the ideas as soon as I get time (probably this afternoon) :)

Thanks again
