Do you mean the head lights themselves or the effect of a car light heading your way?

the head ights and back lights adding details seems a problem heres the model i created

your model looks wonderful man! Ok umm I dont know what to susgest all the cars I made just had a normal smooth surface. You can experiment with displacement maps that might give you the effect you want if I understand you problem correctly
