| hello. I need some help big time. I've got 3ds max 6, and I've got the 3ds max 6 bible and Inside of 3ds max 4. the 3ds max bible is far to boring I've done most of the chapters before the modelling chapters, but the modelling chapters are far to boring. Inside 3ds max 4 is too complicated. I started the modelling chapter and I don't get how to do any thing. on top of that it's out of date. I'm only 14 so I can't go to any school's, I've still got 4 years still I go to university. so please help. |

| SkoleSlasken ![]() | Ok....but what do you need help inn....basic modeling? basic texturin? Understanding of 3d? you should start with messing around on you own...try to learn the tools and basic objects in the scene. then read some free tutorials on the net. it's all from beginning how to select polys to how to make photorealistic scenes on the net. just ask? but try to be spesific:) cheers Minimus.

| Thanks Minimus. I feel like I've done enough 'messing around'. So that's why I asked for help. What I need help on is, just basic modelling. And any thing you need to know to get into film's. If you know any really good site's it would be just great. But if you do tell me any, please make sure it's written by 1 person and not loads of people who all show you the same thing, but at a different angle or a different way. If they all follow each over it's ok. I don't particularly like site like this you never no were to start. thanks |

| SkoleSlasken ![]() | ok so you want to go inn to films. Then first you need to learn to model. -There is tons of free easy modeling tutorials out there the yare easy to find. Then when you feel you know that good enough then you can learn basic texturing. -They are also really easy to find, but hard to learn.....i bad texturer my self so i can help you there. Then you need to learn rigging. -I havent found any good easy rigg tutorials, but its necessary to learn if you want to make films. i really recomend rigging dvd from Cg academy but they might be a bit expensive. Modeling: http://www.3dtotal.com/team/Tutorial...terrain_01.asp (Easy tutorial on making a easy terain, good to start with) http://www.3dtotal.com/team/Tutorial...n/gunmodel.asp (modelling a gun, a bit advance, allsow tells you have to use blueprints) http://www.3dm3.com/tutorials/female_body/ (a bit advance organic modeling, but if you learn this it a huge help) http://www.tutorialized.com/tutorials/3DS-MAX/1 (here is so damn manny so i dont have time to find somthing spesific to you :P) Texturing: http://www.3dtotal.com/ffa/tutorials...smax_text1.asp (sorry not specific this ether, but they are all good, but some may be a bit advance i dont know how good you are inn texturing) http://www.tutorialized.com/tutorial...AX/Materials/1 (alsow a much to pic from i dont know how you like to learn) Basic low poly human body with rigging: http://tutorialoutpost.com/count/7403 = Moddeling http://tutorialoutpost.com/count/7467 = Rigging part1 http://tutorialoutpost.com/count/7468 = Rigging part2 (Basic every thing video tutorials) http://www.video-tutes.com/packages/3d1.php and remember google is your friend.
