Hi all,

I just got the 5.1 update for v5.0 for 3ds max. Only thing is - it doesn't install anything!

Setup starts just like the normal 3ds max one, except you select the 'Modify' option (as opposed to Repair or Remove) and then I expected it to just install. But instead Setup shows that tree diagram thing for selecting components to install, but all the components in the diagram are the normal v5.0 stuff - nothing new.

The 5.1 SP1 update does the same as well, I was least expecting an error because it requires 5.1 to install. I've only got a 56Kbps modem so I don't want my 3hr download to be in vain.

Has anybody else had this problem? Is there a way to fix it?

Select all the components and click on install... it should install all the patches and improvements from 5.0 to 5.1... then run the SP1 for 5.1, and do the same, the install program will patch your 5.1 for a better performance...

I'm afraid it still says version 5.0 Commercial in the about box of 3ds max.
