Rep Power: 0 ![]() | hi dante, thanks for the offer. The first thing i'm not sure about is that this character i wanted to do is found on walls and paintings in churches and old books. And the thing is,nobody ever drew a good outline of his side features(of his face) because he is considered as an "Evil" character in the story if he is drawn on the side and "Good" on the front and wat i'm thinking is that if i model him with and use him on tv or something he cant show his side face or turn around coz he'll then be considered as the evil one,so what should i do?i do not want him to make this a toon thing i was hoping a 3d environment and since i'm gonna need only one of his sides should i just go ahead and dig into max and start modelling and watch out to never turn him around in public or do i have to consider changing this into a toon? |

PS: sorry if this sounds a bit insulting to your ability's in modeling :-)

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Sounds like you're just asking about camera direction. A camera can be added to 3DS Max and you can tell the renderer to render from the camera's point of view. But as far as restricting the camera's Point of View to only show evil characters from the side and good characters from the front, I imagine it's possible to script this into a camera but that's likely far too advanced for someone who is just beginning to model and it's far easier to simply only animate scenes where the characters are seen from the perspective you want them to be seen from. Are the characters licensed by someone who requires this restriction on them? Does it matter to them if you model the full 3D character but never show the character model from the wrong perspective?
