How do u create lamps ?

Question : how do u ussually create lamps - texture, reflections, bump maps... ? I put big reflectivity, bump map, but it still looks unrealistic... Any suggestions ? :terror:

Show me an example of the kind of lamp you are working on and I'll be able to help better... a lamp is too wide a term...!!!
It really depends on the kind of lamp, but I usually use opacity and self illumination as very important variable to make it realistic...

Yeah I forgot to include.. Car lamps, any car lamps, front and back... Maybe u know some turtorials or something..
